Title: Mk6 reflection shots
Post by: Booth11 on 26 May 2013, 11:26
So as not to hijack other threads and as the sun is now showing it's face, time for some reflection shots     Feel free to add your reflection shots

My last detailing session gave some nice reflection shots.  Not so easily come by, but after lots of effort and elbow grease

Lol, I don't know what you mean   Alright, I concede it's a tad easier to get that mirror shine on a black car but it's just reward for having to clean it so often.  You candy white boys have it so easy

Oh, I have plenty of tar spots, you just can't see em

Actually it really could do with claying, lots of tar spots on lower areas.

Detailing wise I keep it really simple.  These pics were taken after just a good wash and wax, using Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid, which I find gives great mirror shine.    For a deeper glossy look, I sometimes opt for Colloinite 915 or Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax for super wet look, but I'm a product tart so will try anything once.

Waxed our car this morning and I can only dream of reflection shots like that with Candy White, looked good but the black is on another level.

Find it difficult to get that wet look like you see on some reds and blacks but this is my effort.  I'm no professional just a wash and wax using P21S given by a friend.

Posted these in the detail section first but as you've started this one I'll jump on...

I tried out some new Poorboys kit I received this week. These are after the first coat of each product. I may add another level of wax to see what that does. What do you think? it looks better today than the day I picked it up from VW 6 months old.

thanks - I started with Poorboy's wash soap n suds using a lambs wool mitt and 2 bucket method, towel dried then PB Black hole glaze + PB EX-P sealant + PB natty's blue paste wax. PB wheel sealant + Autosol for the tailpipes, also all the relevant applicator pads and micro fibre towels and time and effort. It's dirty again now so I will see how easy it is to clean with all those layers under the dirt.

just did the golf today - PB diamond white, PB EX-P and PB nattys paste wax. then wipe down and dust with PB spray and wipe.

didnt get any pictures but will take some next time the cars out.

also washed the clio and gave it a go over with spray and gloss. comes up pretty good. EX-P makes all the difference on a white car i reckon.

did the altea yesterday as the wife drove through a load of fresh tar and chippings. SRP and a coat of megs tech wax 2.0. car came up pretty good - black magic pearl is a really good colour when the sun it out. find the tech wax really dusty though and the megs stuff always streaks i find. got loads to use up from xmas presents etc.

arms are dropping off now.
