Title: Makes a squeking sound when turning right?
Post by: GOLF-MK3-GTI on 25 May 2013, 23:56
Basically was going round a corner pretty fast and came to braking, I hit a pothole. Now when turning right it's making a squeking sound. Any ideas what it could be?

I had the brake pressed when tyre went in the pothole, I felt the ABS kick in too? Straight after steering wheel was pulling to the left. But it's got better now somehow. But the squek noise is there now?

Weak points are the cv joint and wheel bearing so i'd check those first.

Jack it up and spin the wheel first to see if the rim's buckled, you should also be able to hear any noise from the bearing..then take the wheel off and spin the disc to make sure thats straight then drive it around slowly on full lock both ways which would show up any noise from the cv joint.

Driver side ball-joint is on it's way out. Going to get them for both sides and some anti-roll bar drop links.

I would also check your top mounts and bearings

I've just replaced them last week. Plus I checked them too today and it's not them that r causing it
