As title says, just looking for a dedicated MK6 forum.
There doesnt seem to be a lot of action on here for MK6.... When i had my MK5 i used to go on here and it was always busy: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/
Anyone know which is best?

Feel free to contribute more yourself and make it busier here ;)

Wtf, are you for real? I don't think it's appropriate to ask on a forum that you've posted a massive 13 posts on if there's a more active forum out there? I'd feel awkward doing this and I'd regard myself as veteran. Just think you've been really cheeky here dude!
-
Why don't you start your own?

most people have moved into the MK7 section

Because its easier to criticise others hard work?

I find this forum is a 'reactive' one. You ask questions and plenty of members come to your aid with advice and experience. I am fairly new and find it a great forum.
If you want it to be 'pro-active', then look through the hundreds of threads on the Mk6 that exist already. If nothing exists, start a thread yourself and watch the response.
BTW, try moderating a forum, it's hard work and comments however well intentioned can cause offence and bring out the ban hammer in extreme circumstances I would imagine.
-
I only joined this forum a couple of days ago and have found there's plenty action if your willing to take part.
I've contributed to a few threads and had plenty of responses.
Like any forum you only get out what you put in.
-
I'm gonna get off my soapbox now, just found the original post a cheeky and for one appreciate the work that goes onto the whole site.
-
When I was looking to join a forum last year, I looked at loads and this was far and away the most active, knowledgable and friendly, hence me joining - and it hasn't disappointed
Whilst quite a few of the mk6ers have moved over into mk7 section, and it's perhaps been a bit quieter of late (imagine this always happens when a new mark comes out), there's still plenty of interest and nothing to stop you starting new threads.
Course if the you don't like it, go look elsewhere!
-
I looked around when I first bought my mk6 and this forum is the best and most active imo.

Ok, well by the amount off replies i have had in 10 mins on this topics - I eat my words.
And before you all get upset. I wasnt insulting this website. I was mealy saying it didnt look that there was many new topics recently. The only reason i say that, is because when im start at work in between jobs i love to mooch about of GTI forums and read new stuff
"and when i said not active" I mean it hard to look directly at MK6 parts for sale for example......
Please can all of you forgive my sins........ :embarrassed:

Not to be too licky, but I think this site is great. Wouldn't bother looking for another one, appears to be some good folks on here, which is rare on Internet forums

I find the usa mk6 forum a useful place for info too.

Than the answer to your question imo is no.
All the UK mk6 forums are slow, im on most of them.
Not hard to.find them, use Google..
The reason I'm still here is its the most active mk6 specific forum.
-
Get a mk4 if you want a busy forum :lipsrsealed:
-
Thanks for the comments/feedback :)
Maybe it's time for a re-org of the classifieds section.

Hey, are you one of the main men on here?
If so, original comment were a bit incorrect with me now been a few days in.
Buy yeah, would really help if each MK Golf had its own topics within the Main category.
Like For Sale, Wanted...etc.....That would be great.
Cheers

Lol JV is THE man around here

Nah I'm just someone who cant find the exit  i dont even own a Golf
You'd have to do that for ALL sections. What makes this forum work is its simplicity IMO
But its JV's site so he can decide

Yeah your right.....but organization makes things more simple....doesnt have to be loads of category's just about 5-7 main ones would be sweet.
It would help other people find the correct info and help they need more easier
