Title: Golf Mk 5 FSI with DSG uneven running
Post by: Jumbojim on 22 May 2013, 17:52
Gentlemen

I cannot drive this 2008 car slowly, because the engine revs unevenly and makes the car jolt.
I have done all the normal servicing so can anyone suggest what the problem might be?

Revs unevenly at idle or when moving?

At idle it could be your PCV; on the move it could be a problem with the DSG box.....

The revs are uneven when moving slowly forward or reverse, and the throttle pedal held perfectly still just a little open. Could it be the Electronic Power Control system?
There are no EPC warning lights showing on the dashboard.

Dear Rhyso
You where right, the problem is with the MECHATRONICs on the DSG gearbox. Is this  VW dealer only repair, or might less expensive guys be able to cope?

Specialisits will be able to do the job cheaper in terms of labour but will still have to source the part from VW  :undecided:

Id push VW for goodwill as there were a number of boxes that suffered with this issue. Worth a phonecall
