Seen an early golf on eBay with a glass roof would it be genuine.

I could be wrong but I'd bet my mk2 abf that's an aftermarket job...
-
As said...
Aftermarket or Dealer own fit...
Avoid it at all costs as they always leak and you can't get the rubbers...
-
Ok cheers.

What a shame! If the car was a minter I'd be tempted to fit another roof panel

Has to be worth saving with it being an early car

This maybe, just bond it to the old roof and find a non sunroof headliner.

yep saw that one myself, quite interesting but the s/r lets is down. Good idea about the bonded roof though to restore.

Welcome
If your going to go to the trouble, and the expense of fitting an incorrect roof panel, you may as well do the job properly and fit the genuine thing!

aftermarket sunroof cut out?
Scrap it

If that was Atlas Grey I would bite his arm off glass roof or not, I just love the very first Mk2's.

Just seen this and if you are interested in the roofskin we have a Black Fibreglass one which is a cancelled order...just posted this in classified...
Hi, We have had a cancelled order on a Golf Mk2 Fibreglass Roofskin that is in Black and ready to be shipped.... The cost is usually £350, we are happy to supply this for only £300. This can be used to save a huge amount of weight in the car when removing the roof and sunroof or can be used to bond ontop of a roof to get rid of a dented or rusted roof or leaky sunroof!
