Been a few shows this year so far, Dubfreeze in stafford in feb, Stanford hall in Rugby this month and All types in NWales yesterday and have noticed there are very few mk3's being represented. Which is suprising really cus its so affordable at the moment to buy a mk3, its a cheap way into performance vw's. I could literally count on one hand the mk3's i saw yesterday. Is there a main show everyone goes to? (i'm hoping to see a few more at GTI inters this year) or are you mk3 boys not that interested in shows???

My mk3 is now off the road and will be getting semi stripped and cleaned/painted to make it mint condition. Plus I want to keep the mileage super low
but ill be going to shows in my black b6 avant

Yeh I haven't been on a show this year, in fact the GTI has only been out once due to the weather :whistle:

After a wallbro fuel pump, new maf sensor and then the custom map
Bit busy with my events at the moment which is why I'm not on here so much lately

I only really do air cooled shows now. All if them lol. But I do get payed to go to them all :laugh:

Here's my suggestion.

No need to camp all together just arrange to meet up and maybe put the cars in a row somewhere during the weekend.

Vw action is mostly aircooled though, why not make it inters??? then you can take it on the strip to settle a few old scores!!! :laugh: inters is looking good this year and quite centrally located (shakespeare country)
Im planning on doing the 1/4 mile in mine, not that its going to put in a decent time or anything, but its one thing to tick off the "do before you die" list, should be a laugh and doesn't cost much!

Hahaha screech!!! A shootout against your power house, you must be kidding! im going to try and find a 1.0 polo to race so i'm not totally humiliated!!! :laugh:
I'll be going down with the wife and kids dude, camping in the family section.

Its not a drag strip. Its a air field and the temp 1/4 mile is on crap surface. Seen to many high powered fwd cars get spanked by less powerful cars :grin:
Seen standard mk4 r32 spank 300bhp mk4 gti
so the likes of brad and screech wont set any fast times unfortunately. Would like to see what the can really do.

Inters has moved venue to a proper drag strip so surface should be excellent,my car aint no power house what so ever (ko3) no massive spec like brads and others on here just thought it would be a laugh if a few of us could go head to head.
Anyway Leroy you've probably got the lightest mk3 on here with that many holes so you should have a good chance ,a mk5 would spank mine into oblivion lol

You should be killing mk5's even with K03 mate
bens mk3 VR6 (around 190 bhp) kept up with his brother mk5 ED30 (which is 15 bhp down on power i might add - just been rolling roaded on a heart breaker (Dyno dynamics) )
I know this is true coz i was sat next to him
and he has easily kept up with another Mk5 GTI...

tbh brad ive never come up against one ,but I just feel its slow,it runs well,maybe im just used to it,i plan to go ko3s and a fresh remap and lightened fly very soon

HaHa, your right about that!!! nevermind stripping out your interiors to save weight, let the tin worm have its way, rust is lighter than metal!!!
I'm game for a mk3 shootout Screech, will be a right giggle!!! Ive always wanted to do a 1/4 mile in a GTI, the more people off here go the better.

Might pay the £15 and have saturday morning session, or £25 for all day saturday depending how flush im feeling when i order them. Just so we have the same session. I'll have to borrow a helmet from somewhere though!!!
closer to the time, i'll pop a post up to see whos going and what session they will be going so we can have a mk3 shootout!
Theres a mobile dyno there as well i've just seen for £45.
