Title: Toledo splitter fitted. (Pics)
Post by: stainesy on 18 May 2013, 19:32
Ok fitted the Toledo splitter today. Took quote alot of modding to get it on.
And there is a gap in the middle. But I am going to Finnish it tomorrow by filling the gap using a piece from my VR splitter.
But you get the picture.
Loving the way it swoops out at the bottom.

What do you think?

Ok as you can see it don't flick out much more than a VR splitter. It just looks that way in pics.

"LIKE"

Think it would be better if the centre section was flush rather than set back.
But other than that it looks good and above all different.
As long as you like it mate dont listen to others.

Really?
I like it
Seen the tread with all the different splitters and it don't look no worse than some of them.
It done neatly and the reason I like it is mainly coz no one has it

I did expect to get haters tbh lol.
But don't think it looks as bad as you lot do.

Ah we'll I'm keeping it lol.

Well am I mistaken or did my other mk3 (that alot of people on here didn't like my ideas) get voted into 2012 calendar?  :lipsrsealed:
Alot of my ideas on that we're slated but did it stop me? No lol.

Also got slated for putting blue wheels on my jetta. But who now has a trophy and a show and shine rosett sat on my shelf at home?  :lipsrsealed:

Hit a nerve

end result of last golf was fine.

But dont forget the shocking red A team line down it and the chrome door mirrors.

This splitter is one of them mods

Dont take things the wrong way. But it does look stupid

I had one similar before I fitted the body kit but cant find a photo of it on here though so will look later.
I bought that off a bloke on here too so some folk liked that style.
(It was about 6 years ago)

Haha!!! had to laugh at some of these responses, don't worry stainsey, anything a bit different is going to provoke people!!! take it as a compliment that people think your sound enough not to take offence when they swear at you!!!

Its not that bad!!!

You need to heat it up and get it flush and then possibly somehow seal the gap. A neat bead of black silicone wouldn't look too bad from a distance. Not massively to my taste would look better with the gap all the way around but I can't see how to do it.

Yeah use cable tie or cut long thin strips of plastic from old splitter as filler rod and plastic weld it flush.

I still wont like it though

that bit can be easily removed though.

Yeah I did think about plastic welding it but I quite like the set back look.
Plus it would loose that textured effect and be blatantly noticeable. It looks neat and tidy the way it is. Alot of the VR splitters have a gap or bit in the middle that don't quite meet proply and that's oem.

Jeez that's low, I'd be worried about ripping it off. Defo needs some work in the middle and then it should look OK.

This could be way, way worse, you could have fitted a Vento trim in place
