Title: best way to clean a cylinder head, bores and piston crowns
Post by: Khare on 18 May 2013, 19:26
In the next month I'm stripping down the top end for a rebuild, once the head is off I want to clean it as best as possible and port match the manifolds. What is the best way to remove the carbon? I was thinking overnight soak of head in diesel then scrubbing it off with a stiff brush of some sort and using over cleaner for bores and crowns. I don't have a dishwasher s that's out of the question. Is it worth buying one of those steam cleaners from Argos for the head?
