Title: SMOOTH MK4 FRONT BUMPER IN BLACK? What is this worth?
Post by: Dommy GTi on 18 May 2013, 16:24: As above, I picked up a smooth bumper with no lower grills for free, I've seen one on ebay which is really awful going for 40 quid, and the plastic splitter wasn't even smoothed in with the bumper, only the license plate area smoothed.

But mine has the license plate area smoothed, and the splitter smoothed on Aswell, finished in gloss black?

What would this be worth if anyone is interested, I reckon 80 is a good price?

Ps. Sorry if I am in the wrong section, I'm on my phone so struggling to use this on here haha

but all depends on what condition, and how the smoothing was done to how mch youll get.

But need the money more so would go nice on a black car :), please keep an eye on this thread tomorrow from around half 9, I will get pics of every angle possible on a good camera.

Either way, it's not an oem bumper/valance.

No, look at the back of it... No joins at all, no signs of any work done except the poor turbo part. You'd be able to see where the splitter meets the bumper, where the rub strip was....

Quite clearly it's an aftermarket one piece bumper.

Lol how many times..... It's quite obviously an aftermarket bumper, they do exist.... Look around!

No, the tabs etc weren't cut off etc because quite obviously they weren't there in the first place.

Having said all the above, it looks to be abs and who knows, it might be a good fit so it might not be all bad, im only saying this so you can sell your bumper with an accurate description. But seriously, there's no way on this earth it's an oem bumper or valance that's been smoothed. I can't really believe you're attempting to dispute it, regardless of what your 'friend' had and says you've got eyesight like we all do and all of what I've said is pretty obvious.

But if you believe it's aftermarket then fair plays, I'm not a big specialist so as I said, the information I have put, is what I have been informed..
