Is this normal? It's a 1992 J 1.8 GL. I know I won't have 1, 5, 7, but surely number 3 and and number 9 are standard?
And these loose connectors?

My reversing lights have also stopped working. I've replaced the fuse, bulbs and have ordered a new switch but I was wondering what other sources could be?
Also, after the heavy rain yesterday and the day before, I found the floors on the drivers side quite wet, nearer to the doors than the center of the car, front and back. Windscreen is leaking (build up of a white substance at the bottom and water marks) and is gonna be replaced as it has a chip that unrepairable in the drivers line of sight but apparently the sunroof (which is broken) has drains with leak as well? I've found the one in the drivers door hinge, which is dirty and wet still, where is the rear drivers side one?
Was thinking of just gaffa taping over the seals in the sunroof.

number of relays looks allright, what equipment does your car have (heated seats, abs, ???)?
the loose plug could be from diagnostics line.... but also others what the wire colour?
leak on passenger side.... check the drains from where the inside air filter sits.... water like's to run it through there if the drains are blocked.
gaffa taping the drains in sun roof over is a daft idea... unless you like piss stains in your ceiling.
clean the drains that are under the door hinges at drivers and passenger front seats- there arent any in the back doors. use a bit of copper wire (the front bent round) to clean the drain nipples under the hinges
-
I wasn't going to gaffa the drains, I meant the entire sunroof around the sides as it meets the roof. :P
Connectors are yellow. I would have thought I'd need number 3 for the ECU at least?
I'm gonna take out all the plastic lining in front of the windscreen to clear it all out, must be a lot of gunk and leaves in there after 20 years.

Thanks. Have looked at that earlier though. Should be 3 yellows all for engine compartment electrics. I'll have to get my head in upside down tomorrow and see if the connectors have any codes on them.
Is it possible that my car doesn't have an ECU?
-
not all engines ecu'shave relays... 1.8 for example hasnt got one (but still has an ecu of course)
here is a drawing of where it has drains.... it does also have some in the back for sunroof.

Ahhh. I was looking all around the inside of the rear doors and boot lid. No wonder I couldn't find it. Many thanks for that!

So I've had the carpet up and it would suggest that it wasn't the sunroof leaking at all.

Water is coming in from the direction of the red arrow, it's bone dry along the door and up by the bonnet release mechanism. Any ideas? Windscreen?
It stunk to high heaven underneath the black membrane, wasn't a puddle just wet and my car was distinctly musty when I opened it. Guess I'll be driving with the heater on for a while.
-
is there some on the passenger side as well or only drivers?
it does not smell of coolant or taste bitter & sweet?
-
Nope, passenger side is bone dry. Doesn't smell of anything other than water, though I haven't tasted it.
New reversing switch came today, fitted it just now. No difference, still not working. They were 2 weeks ago, now nothing. What else could it be apart from fuse, bulb and switch? Where does the wiring run?
EDIT: Just to add that I replaced the old switch because it didn't work even out of the gearbox, new one does so the problem is in the gearbox. Is it even worth fixing? Might as well wait till the gearbox goes
-
do reversing lights come on if you simulate the switch in the plug?
if yes theres an issue in the box if not its wiring or central electrics or gnd issue in the boot.
