Hope this is ok to post this in here, half way fitting a new recirc valve, and the small vacum pipe that goes to the top has just broke into several peices as badly perished, can i drive my car a few miles without it on, or should i leave the car till i can get a lift to get some new pipe
-
if you stay off boost you should be ok.. i wouldnt risk it though.. replace it all the way back to the manifold too.. if you have enough left over do the fuel pressure regulator too!
-
might suond really stupid, but what do you mean by back to manifold, the black plasticey pipe only seem to got about 20 cms from vavle to the metal pipe
-
ok, leave metal pipe there and replace black pipe to it. follow metal pipe to other end and replace the pipe thats the other end of it too. i just replaced the lot with once piece.
-
Do not drive it without that pipe on u could cause damage to the valve or the turbo. I totally bypassed that metal pope and replaced the whole lot with silicone.
-
cheers for the advice, will look into bypass the metal pipe when get a chance, will just get a bit of pipe so can get the car bk on the road
what size pipe do i need?
-
If you have to drive it block it off and leave the DV nipple with nothing on it and only drive off boost. This is only if you must drive it
-
4mm.. make sure its proper vac pipe as the clear stuff you get from b&q will just crush under vacuum.

If you was local could droped u some silicone pipe for it i have sh1t loads
As said use propa silicone pipe not crappy see through ones.
