Hi guys, just a quick question. I currently have a Laptop running Windows 7 32bit for ETKA which is completely up to date (as of 15th may), and covers the MK7 Golf platform.
I'm trying to do the same with my version of Elsawin (on my other Laptop running Win 7 64bit), and have updated it to V4.10, but it doesn't contain any information on the MK7 platform (5G). Does anyone know if there are any updates available to Elsawin that cover these models or have VW not launched them ?
Would just like to get some workshop information before the car arrives so that if I need to do any mods that involve removing any trim etc. I know the proper way to do it ?

Bloody Hell Norbreck. Did you and Bill (with his crazy spreadsheet) previously decipher codes during the Cold War?

I literally have no idea what you are talking about
As Craig says, I think you and The Bear should team up! You could be the new Avengers!!

Sorry guys.
ETKA - is the VW parts catalogue that gives you exploded drawings, part numbers and prices all car parts and accessories for the complete VAG group (but typically VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda). Not normally available outside the dealers but has been on sale from the internet for years. (see below)

Elsawin is the VW workshop program (like a super on-line Haynes manuals database for the VAG Brands). In this you have detailed Workshop instructions on repairs, strip-downs and re-assembly, wiring diagrams, servicing information etc. This program is actually used by VAG's tech in their workshops. It's a fairly complicated install process, but well worth it.

  I literally know nothing about all of this, you guys really are the Avengers!!!

Haha, I'm the total opposite to these guys! I just know how to check/change fluids, tyre pressures, and wheels. It's something I get in, turn a key (soon push a button) and go - don't care or want to know how it all hangs together!

"Its not crazy, its advaaaaaaaaaaaaanced."
Ok I know, enough of the Invader Zim references.

Dunno, I've been without both systems since I changed to Mac about a year and a half ago. My slightly 'non OEM' programs wouldn't run on it and all I can say it that it has saved me a fortune not retro-fitting things to my mk6 that I've imported from Germany as I don't have part numbers anymore!!
The best place to check for latest versions of stuff like that are the good ol' USofA forums as they love ETKA and Elsawin over there.

Norbreck - Have you got the prices installed on your etka? I moved onto etka7 or something like that and can't get the prices to install.
-
mcmaddy, yes mate, both Audi and VW prices are up to date to Price file revision 525 Dated 25th Feb this year (guess they'll be a new update soon). Was a bugger to get them to install though (took about 4 attempts).

For anyone not wanting to install ETKA they can go to this site http://vin-online.ru/etka.php?vag=VW&rgn=RDW&mod=GOLF&year=2013 (http://vin-online.ru/etka.php?vag=VW&rgn=RDW&mod=GOLF&year=2013) and view it on-line.
I don't know if its been updated yet with the MK7.
Your best to use Google Chrome due to the site being in Russian as that will translate it automatically for you.

I've got etka 7.3 plus and its a real pain to update sometimes. some of the updates just won't upload. Is anyone else using 7.3 plus?

McMaddy: If you are interested, there's a very current update to the VW / Audi ETKA pricing for the UK, as well as a small patch that helps you install them. I had to have it sent to me by the Admin over at mytouraeg. I can PM to you both files if you are interested?
