Title: Scirocco GTS - GTI wheels ?!
Post by: JoeGTI on 15 May 2013, 11:13
I noticed that this special edition Scirocco "GTS" is going on sale here in Ireland (not sure about UK?). Apart from some horrendous go-faster stripes, it also comes with alloys that look very much like the new GTI 18's... !

Scrirocco deserves better than these tacky 'editions', seems like a run-out model if ever there was one.

The Scirocco GTS has been here for a while, and looks rather tacky to say the least...  Just not keen on road cars dressed up like that, despite red, white and black being my favourite colour combo!

Out of curiosity where is the Scirocco in it's lifecycle?

Must be due an all new model soon-ish? It's based on the MK5/MK6 platform isn't it and has been around since 2008?

I must admit, based on the success of the Scirocco, if I had one and enjoyed it as much as people on here seem to, I'd probably hold out until next year to see what happens.  It can't be long before an update is announced based on the Mk7 platform and with all the same technical enhancements and options.

Those alloys have been around quite a while, they're called 'Thunder' and were available as dealer options previously.
Different offset, slightly different design and more of a dish than the 'Austins'.
They'd be a good retro fit to a mk7 as they'd fill the arches better.
