Been thinking about this for a while. I'm not a huge fan of the pano roof, in that it's not a must have. But...does anyone think that the version with the pano roof make it look sleeker, lower because there is no apparent break between the windscreen and the roof? Or is it just me? Here are two pictures to compare them.

Looks sleeker from certain angles, but I hate the break in the roof part-way down.

It looks good in that photo but I think it looks crap in that photo of the white GTD in the dealership photo.

I personally prefer the look of the panoramic roof to the normal one and yes i think it does look a bit sleeker, i still don't know why they call it panoramic though? It looks like one from the outside but inside it's just like a normal sunroof?
-
Yeah, its not actually panoramic.
I ordered it... so, come September (October?) I'll let you all know what its really like. Not that it will be any help to you by then.

Different angles and different lighting conditions make for different photos. Until you actually see one in person, then each photo will look better or worse. I'm personally glad I spent the £900 for the pano roof on my white GTD. I think it definitely makes the car look sleeker and I like the way the windscreen merges into the roof. Just my opinion though

Ye I never thought of that, does look a bit odd from the top view.
-
Personally I think it looks pretty good, not enough for me to pay the price for it though.
-
Is it one piece of solid glass from windscreen up? What happens if you get a cracked windscreen?

No it has a black seem I think.

So its not a long piece of glass that goes up and over your head that you can see through? Is that confirmed? If so.. that actually makes my decision not to have it easier...

Came across this high res image of the panoramic sunroof during my daily surfing for all things Golf!

Looks like a German showroom with a GTI beside!

No it's definately not one piece of glass that you can see through, from the inside it is just like a normal sunroof although maybe a little bigger, when you "slide" it it goes along the outside instead of sliding inside the roof.
Cr@p video but you get the picture:
