I am wraping my vw badges on my mk4 in carbon wrap and its a propa b4stard to work with because of the shape on the badge. The stuff does not seem to stick properly and starts pickings itself from the edges. Really annoying.
Anyone have any tips on doing this please. I wrapped the interior trim in brushed ali and that was fine and ia holding up good :undecided: im thinking if i just got sh1t 3m carbon vinyl :lipsrsealed:
I am heating it up etc while wrapping.

Don't take my word for this, but I would suggest moistening the sticky side of the vinyl with soapy water and then apply it, I only suggest this as I worked at a place who dealt with car vinyls (lettering, images etc) and that was the way the did most vinyls, then use a stanley to finish everything off. Even if there's bubbles, just tap them with the point of the blade and squeeze out the liquid.
Again, don't take my word for it, it's just something that might work haha

That technique i thought more for window tints  not a bad idea ill try it with some left over carbon wrap. I think its just the shape is a bi tch to do :lipsrsealed:

Yeah that's true, but I would imagine it has much the same effect :) also makes it easier to position perfectly as the vinyl will slide about until the water has been squeezed out, making the shape of it easier to work with

Heat up the vinyl loads. I did my badges, on more than one occasion.
Get it real hot then it will stretch nicely around the edges, patience is the key

Have you ever tried PlastiDip?
Plastic spray that can be removed like Vinyl but leaves no residue.

Barking up the wrong tree! find someone local to you, or does a postal service that does this...
