Title: Passenger Airbag
Post by: matchboy on 12 May 2013, 22:27
Does anyone know if you can turn the passenger airbag on the Mk 7? Ie. through the trip computer or by a key in the glovebox?

Maybe it's smart enough to know when there is no-one in the passenger seat (weight/heat sensors) and won't deploy an airbag for an empty seat? But for small child's rear facing seat you need to be turning it off - MFD option rather than key switch in glovebox would probably be cheaper?

Someone with a standard MK7 or access to the general MK7 users manual should be able to say - that system won't be any different for the GTI/GTD than for the lesser models.

There a key switch in the passenger side dash end panel (been moved from the glovebox) which is standard on the MK7 platform.
