Title: forge actuator advice.
Post by: jamie16v on 12 May 2013, 19:14
ok, got my forge actuator fitted with the only spring i had which was the one it came with (red, as i bought it off toby last year).
am i going to have issues with the wastegate being held closed or will it work ok?.
it`s the type with the tapered spring so cant swap it with one of my 007p springs

What 'stage' do you consider your self at?

What's your current spec now? Future plans?

don't run it with a red. I was hitting around 30psi with no sign of the wastegate opening on a red spring

This is the result

k04 internals in a k03
fmic
silicone S3 tip and cone filter
c20let injectors/Vr6 maf housing etc etc
just wondering if it`ll die as it is atm

use a MBC with the N75 to cap boost

I was advised to use a blue spring when I had a k04-001 as the yellow was cracking open at top end.

Yeah, mines only had a Ko3 stage 1 map on it too

Probably the reason it kept cutting the boost back on load in 3,4,5 gear

Yes that could have been the problem mate

How much pre-tension are you guys winding on when fitting the forge actuators?

Just seen this and reminded me to have a look for that spring, Jamie.

I'll have a gander when I get home mate..

ah great, thanks dave

the only tension i put is just enough to take up the slack and about one turn just to make sure.

Slightly different but on my k03s with forge actuator yellow spring I used the 3tuurn preload method
