I hated the sound of my 2012 Scirocco 2.0Tsi. Personal preference, lacks drama

There is no mention of it in UK but there is in Ireland of an amplified & tuned exhaust noise on the GTD that gives  distinctive sporty sound and that 'pop' - Something that maybe switched on by 'sport' mode?

My Scirocco 170TDI has the "Soundaktor" device (the 14 version doesn't). It sounds pretty gruff under acceleration - no "pop" noises though. Same device probably destined for the GTD.
