Title: 2.0l 8v AGG help

I have 97 1.4 8v mk3 golf and going to be putting a 2.0l 8v in it I have just been told I don't need the loom to go with engine it can be wire in to my 1.4 loom and ecu is this right ? Thanks

It wont work without loom and ecu. I wouldnt reccomend that conversion. You can by 2l 8v pretty cheap nowadays and will allready be equipped with proper breaks and suspensoin.

You'll need the Gti loom/ecu and I really don't see the point in going to all that effort to put an 8v engine in. Why not a 16v/VR6?

I happen to have a full vr6 conversion for sale cheap if you fancy a trip to Scotland lol.

275 for 95% of the parts needed for conversion Early obd 1 with 145k on it. 140 for engine on its own.

You will need everything from the GTI, pointless conversion when mk3's are so cheap.

yeah man 8vs are so cheap, probably the cheapest gti you can get atm so you may aswell just get a full 8v then you'll have gti spec also. that's unless you're doing the swap for learning/enjoyment purposes. if so then crack on with the conversion and good luck!

Nope,mine allways works and I never shout about how amazing it is  unlike some .
