I've just realised while watching Chris Harris launch an R8 (http://youtu.be/jsudmRyxLjc (http://youtu.be/jsudmRyxLjc)) that I've never used launch control in the 3 years I've had my car.
Anyone else in this situation? I feel like I've let myself and everyone else down.

 I knew i didn't feel right today and now i know why - it was you letting me and everyone else down!
I think you should at least try it once....you may like it

This post made me laugh  Wish I had DSG, defo gonna get on my next car. My clutch control has always left a little to be desired! Only had my car since sept 2012 and my clutch is already a bit worn
-
What a let down.
The only reason someone pays over a grand for a fancy gearbox is so that they can drive like a tool away from traffic lights.
Sit in the corner and write 100 lines:
"I must try harder with my DSG"
PS. Go out and try it immediately...
PPS. Don't blame us if something blows up...

Gotta be honest, this is why I'd never put mine down the strip.

Hold on a minute. You can all flame me for this. Does the GTi have launch contol ?
Being the wife's, I won't tell her, but will try it at least once.
I have used it once on mine, but that's a question of button pressing, foot to the floor bouncing off the limiter and releasing the brake. Did it once for my lads benefit, but I am just too mechanically sympathetic......
-
Page 166 of your user manual
Foot on brake, gear selector to S or +/-, foot on accelerator, car will rev to 3200rpm, release brake, launch!

Top man, this is tomorrow's entertainment sorted

I've got a bit too much mechanical sympathy to try it in my Passat, but with 140 diesel drinking horses, I don't suppose the results are going to be especially impressive.

Try it; you might like it  i think you might be pleasantly surprised. And if you aren't then get it mapped and try again
-
I have never tried it either, hmmm
-
Me neither. I fear I may like it too much and not want to stop
-
So have any of you tried it now??
-
Nope.
-
It is addictive. Im sad to say that I do it at least a few times A WEEK! Still, if it means winning a Focus ST off the light then why not eh?
p.s the extra torque push from 1st to 2nd is just

Nope too, for reasons I gave earlier. One day.....but not this week
