With so many new shiny GTI's and GTD's going to be arriving on these shores any day now  , is anyone considering paint protection for their car such as supagard or ventureshield? Does anyone have it on their current car and is it worth the money?

DON'T DO IT!! Get yourself a nice wool wash mit and some drying towels and some half decent wax and enjoy cleaning your pride and joy!
I think you'll find that most on here will agree it's a waste of money mate.

100% don't do it. Had it on both my last 2 GTI's (for free), first one was ok but the second one was so swirly and in the end I had my car guy do it with proper stuff. It gets done in the dealership so you get some oik who doesn't give a toss doing it. If you really want to do it pay a professional - he'll use proper stuff too.

Or buy the kits off ebay for about £20 and do it yourself if you insist on a nice bright, pollen-free day after claying the car. Personally i'd rather just keep on top of wax application after regular cleaning. Buying the interior protection sprays (like Scotchgard) from said kits and applying yourself is worthwhile.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to gauge people's opinions on this. I'm one of those people who wash their car religiously every weekend so that doesn't bother me. It's the stone chips you pick up which is a killer. I'm hoping they don't show so much on white paint

I think if I ever buy another brand new VW I would be taking it instantly to somewhere to get the front wrapped in clear plastic as the paint is so pants. I dont know if thats what ventureshield is but I did see someone (I thin on here) having their mk6 done and thought they are wise.
