Title: Resonator delete today...
Post by: Wixmk6gti on 08 May 2013, 17:10
Wanted this doing so I popped to a place I knew who wield and half hour later all done :)

Pop pop bang bang love the dsg gear change now!

No massive intrusion of noise I like the low down pull noise.

Happy for £35

Yes on a standard exhaust I will try and get some vids up failing that I can email short clips from my Iphone

It's pretty good for £35 bit of popping on dsg change :)

Up to say 3k rpm you get a nice deep sound no real pop on gear change just a noticeable noise,  3-5k rpm you a pop from the exhaust under swift acceleration, 5k - redline normal dsg fart but louder,
You can drive this around and not know that it's been done.

I do get a small pop on downshifts very small tho..

I had this done on mine so worth it! For the money
The pops on gear change put a massive smile on your face

Did you have the suitcase bit or the silencer Infront of that removed.

What exactly does this involve?

The resonator before it gets to the suitcase..

Simple job for any wielder, saw out the resonator box either side the wield same size pipe in its place..

Looking in resonator there holes/chambers that the exhaust gas goes through which in turn makes it quieter.

Removing that and it sounds crazy now!!

I love it!

I DO HAVE AUDIO CLIPS ON MY IPHONE IF ANYONE WANTS THEM

1. Cold start then after 50secs it settles down to idle
2. Medium acceleration from stand still and gear change
3. On the move gradual pull and gear change

Guess you can pm your no. or email and I can whizz them to you.

think the GTD will sound horrible if you do any kind of deletion, they try their hardest to make it not sound like a tractor
