what year is the car an it could be that your car has had the engine changed
-
its on a x plate so 2000 if it has there is no recored of it being done :/
-
check your log book see what engine code is on that
-
havent got it on me atmo ill cheack when going to see the parents allso on the passanger side mount for the susspension theres a metal plate and this says AUM on it would this be correct ?
-
not sure if there is a sticker in the boot that has the engine code on it :undecided:
-
Check the sticker in the boot, under the carpet.
Failing that take a picture of your engine bay with all the stamps etc.
Could well have had a transplant...But after a quick google the AJQ is a 180 engine. Which is the same as the AUM I think. Strange... :undecided:

You are correct. I always get that muddled up. :undecided:
If you engine is a AJQ then it must have had a switch. :undecided:

yea what i thought but the car is only running 153bhp ;) so witch makes me think they didnt change the ECU
-
If its a 180bhp engine is should have a 6 speed gearbox?
-
see thats what i thought as well but its only 5 speed all i want to know is what car ive got lol think its like 4 cars in one atmo :/
-
It certainly sounds as if your car has had an engine transplant the problem you have now is it if it is not recorded I'm sure that against the law as the ECU needs to be coded to the new engine and the correct mileage updated on the cluster
-
ah i see well i bought the car over a year ago now so wont have any luck now lol
-
or chould it have been the block has been changed ?

Not all AUQ 180bhp's had the 6spd, Octavia vRS stayed with the 5spd for some reason.

If you just change the engine there isn't any need to code locks or ECU
