Title: Code reader problem :(

Hello fellas I have a bog standard code reader and it worked perfectly fine on my 1.8 t AUQ and my mates 1.4 golf but I've tried to use it on the gt tdi and it just says unable to make a connection.

The car is an import but I've been told this should not make any difference
And it's a diesel gt tdi 150

Any clue to what it may be would be greatly appreciated cheers fellas

Some code readers don't work on diesels that are pre 2004.

What year is the car

2002... Would that explain the reason why.

I would of thought all the protocols would be the same within the vw mk4 series ??

They don't even sell it on eBay any more either that or I can't find it lol . But it was only a cheap £20-£30 one and did me perfectly for the 1.8 t

Any recommendations??
