Anyone have the answer to the differences? Spec
-
Turbo will be one for sure
-
I'd like to know the answer to this question too. Hope it's not just a bigger turbo. There seems to be precious little info the the new GTD so far.
ROO1 - we're only getting 181bhp... but I'm just splitting hairs

It'll be more like 200 anyway I'm sure. Ay vw staff able to check the turbo part number?

If it is like the 140/170 differences then it'll be different cams, injectors and turbo. On my Roc there was a 20kg difference between the 170TDI GT and the 140TDI GT (non-bluemotion), I presume most of that came from the mechanical differences as the only other difference (equipment-wise) was the addition of chrome exhaust tips on the 170 and they don't weigh much. With the massive difference in equipment between the 150GT and the 184 GTD, trying to determine the weight difference for mechanical differences would be pointless.

I hope it's a lot better than the 150 bhp Mark VII GT TDI I drove a few weeks ago. I found that a bit torque-less in 5th and 6th. I freely admit that it was the first time I'd ever driven a Golf diesel and my normal ride is a 270bhp Focus ST with 330 lb/ft torque

Difference is 34 bhp

Shame someone hasn't found to some proper technical info yet ROO1
Keep searching
