Title: air filter housing
Post by: welshdean on 03 May 2013, 20:20
I picked up my 1.8t yesterday and wanted to change my air filter over from my 2.0 gti.

So I undone the two screws that secure the lid shut and unhooked the top cover. Took out old filter and popped in the new one . But when it came to putting the lid back on it just didn't seem to sit flush on the side where the hinges are. There's not a huge gap but I was just wondering if it has to be a sealed unit or will it be ok to stay like this.

Make sure the outer part of the filter is seated properly in the recess, You may need to massage it in a bit more.
