Title: Parking and Dents....
Post by: cosmicremedy on 30 April 2013, 11:31
I don't know about anyone else, but leaving my car in a car park worries the crap out of me.  Most of the time i end up in car parks that have plenty of spaces - Sainsburys in the evening after work.  But there are times when you just have to find a space in Multistories or "Airport Carparks "

I just picked my folks up from the Airport this morning and had to find a space, the spaces were not very generous and i had to live with one that wasnt to my liking

Anyway the car that was parked next to me had gone when i got back and there is now a small parking dent in my door, i am sure it wasnt there earlier?  I know you have to just park up sometimes and that's life but it's still bloody frustrating... People just don't seem to care anymore

Rant over.

Wherever possible I park in an empty section of the car park and usually take up 2 spaces. Obviously if the car park is small/busy this is not possible so I try to park next to the most expensive car I can see instead

I do the same apart from parking in a double space

I park nearer the more expensive cars and NEVER next to a people/carrier car with 'Kid on board' stickers/hanging thingies.

I take advantage of this. Other people dont give 2 fu*ks about other peoples properties. Today i found a nice scratch on the drivers rear quarter panel. Nice!
Junkies leaning on car. Kids playing footie on the road when there is a park liturally 2 mins walk. P1sses me right off. Car should be allowed to electrocute anyone who touches it
 Fuuuuuuuck yooooou biiiitchesss
Rant over

I feel exactly the same. Should we all group together and make a parking gazebo to throw up over ur car Put like a bio chemical sign on it or something no one would want to park next to that lol

All it needs is for all the enthusiasts that are on forums to display a sticker on the windscreen, bright colour so its visible indicating its safe to park next to them

I feel like a Daily Mail reader outraged at the lack of consideration posting something this random, but it annoys the hell out of me. At least I have a friendly local PDR guy.

Hope you get it sorted.

i think half the time the people with more expensive cars will care far less about my cheapo vw than an "ordinary" car owner  would

Couldn't give a flying f**k.  It's a car - it's tin and rubber not flesh and bone.

A few dings ain't gonna make it drive any worse.

If your car is really SO important to you I suggest you lead quite an empty life: get over yourselves and grow up.

People matter, cars are just things.

Dents and scratches can always be fixed.

Things that you have to pay for. I work too hard to have some scrote inflict damage. Costs you money to put right, so yes pretty important to a fair few I would guess.

Few people matter, most disappoint.

Agree, with the two above. Might not be flesh and bone but it still costs money to put right, and it's not exactly a couple of pounds to sort out a ding and a scratch.

Agree to a certain extent with what DH has said.

i would prefer not to have a dent or a ding, but if it happens its not the end of the world...

Hi must admit this is one of my pet hates, thoughtless sh!ts who park next to you, who then throw their doors open on their £500 sh!t heaps to put a nice dent in your pride and joy. When other people say it is only a car it annoys me because when you have parted with a lot of money and someone puts a nice dent in the side when it comes to selling the car on again it de-values it. To most people their car is probably their second biggest investment after their house, so why people cannot respect other peoples property is beyond me

Because life's too short to be all idiotic about a little ding in a car.  It's a mode of transport, not a fetish.

Lots of people with £500 sh*tters on here.

Some of them are even proud of them and would get upset if their car got dinged.

I'm not, I'm all about throwing my door open to put dents in other people's new cars.  It makes them cheaper when I need to buy them.
