Title: Petrol cap gone.
Post by: Kobe on 29 April 2013, 07:51
Petrol cap won't click shut no more or does the button inside the car work. Do I need some kind of motor for it to work again? Someone said the solidnoid ( probably not spelt right ) has gone????
Any guides on doing this?

Thanks

open the boot and on the right hand side you need to remove that panel, there is a solenoid that drives a pin up and down for the petrol cap release.
Either that has gone or is stuck, I took the cover off the solenoid and the cogs are made of plastic and when used repeatedly small pieces come off and get stuck, a few small sprays of WD40 and a small paintbrush and it started working again, been fine since

Right as I was trying to split the unit in half the solonoid popped out (scared me half to deaf) must of just been as you said Dalo probably should get a new one soon tho but that will do for now :)
