hi guys i need some advice. iv not long brought a mark 3 8v after a long lay off from the vdub scene. dont get me wrong i can justify spendind money on a car to get it perfect but there comes a time when i just wanna have a change.
so i need your advice
on the mk3 iv just had it motd (had sills welded) so got 12 months on tht and brought a full leather mulberry interior with heated loom for 250 and fitted tht. loads of other bits but did a 500 mile round trip other day and ever since, the car just hasnt been the same. flat spots hear n there, what only i can describe as a whurring from front drivers wheel (maybe belts not sure ) it doesnt idle to good in morning.
dyu think i shud cut my losses, sell the car for parts and get the mk4? any adivce would be appreciated thnks guys

Yeah why not. But don't expect a cheap 1.8t to run perfect and have no running issues.
-
im not expecting it to. the mk3 iv got now has done nearly 170000 and im just waiting for it to go, i knw they are bullet proof but just got tht slight niggle.
love it too bits but mmmm

Why not fit a vr6 lump? Or buy a mk4 and fit the 1.8t in the mk3?

body work on the mk3 isnt great. lacquer peel on half the driver door. and alarm is starting to go off when it wants. like this mornig at 4;50.
and last thing i wanna do is start messing around with the immobiliser and alarm
