just for laughs  what's the longest it's taken you to clean your car and how did you split time (e.g. 2 hours on the outside, 1.5 hour on the inside; just saying)
-
Probably about 12 hours in one day but bits and bobs the next day so maybe 14 hours in total but that's a very very rare occasion! With plenty of tea breaks for curing, On average 3-4 hours.
1.5-2hrs interior then the rest on paintwork.
I need a life!!!

About 8 hours on my dragon green mk3! It had a dogs life before I got it.

Are we talking full on detailing or weekly wash and vac?
I spent 4 solid days on my Mk6 when I first bought that. My Misses took the kids away to her Dads for a long weekend, so I had 100% uninterrupted time. That included a full clay, machine polish, seal and wax, wheels off to clean under the arches and the insides of the wheels (sticky remains of old balance weights etc)
A normal wash for me (if it's not raining) takes around 2 hours to wash and dry, then around an hour to vac and baby wipe the interior and wash the rubber mats.

the first time i detailed my car it took two full days. but i did keep getting interrupted from mates driving past my house and stopping to see what i was doing.
normal wash and dry about 3hours for two cars (i have a small drive so one car at a time). That includes be swearing at the pressure washer hose as it gets stuck under the wheels of the car.

took me 2 hours today cleaning it on the outside. Inside is due tomorrow, the in-laws came for a visit so had to cut the party short
-
Took me 4 hrs, my old man was going mental. That was washing the car and cleaning the inside & also doing all the black bits
-
... and a further 1.5 hr for the inside today. Kids started complaining that it was taking too long so had to cut party short once again grrrrrrrr
-
About 4 hours today, but it wasn't too bad to begin with. Just dusty.

For an uninterrupted normal wash and dry, plus interior clean, 3-4 hours. For anything else, waxing, claying etc - whole day at least.

Takes as long as it takes. MK2's are the worst cars to machine polish!

Agreed, but there is less of it to do.

Six full days! (8-4 with few breaks). I did remove the whole interior, remove a load of engine pay parts, remove wheels, and clean the underside with APC three times, then give it a two stage machine polish and two coats of wax though!
