Title: Help with misfire on startup
Post by: Turbo Brett on 25 April 2013, 17:47
Hey all

I need your help this is my first golf and may be my last one if i don't sort out the issue. It misfires on startup but it does it intermittent.

I have changed plugs, coil pack, maf, Ignition control module, and its still there it does go after a minute or two but i can get my head around it.

It's been on diag and there are no codes at all.

So does anyone else have any ideas. Oh its a 1.8 T AGU 99 with 141k

also just noticed white smoke coming out of the exhaust

you have changed all those parts without checking them? :o

what do you mean it misfires? just cuts out?
does that go away when it's warm?

white smoke out the back, how much? at what temperature?

No i checked each part first one at a time.

it misfires doesn't cut out and it does it on start up cold and warmed up

when sat still when the car is warming up to running temp and when the car is is to temp as well, and as how much well theres plenty to make me see it.
