Title: been to look at a mk5 gt 170 noicy gearbox

Been to look at a mk5 gt 170 but it has a whining noice when driving, the seller says its the gearbox is this a common thing? does it sound about right and how much would it cost for a new recon box fitted roughly? cheers

no its fine when you put clutch in soon as your release when in gear comes back, seller says its better through the box
