Hi all
Now i have my old wishbones de-bushed and painted need to start thinking about how i am going to sort the new bushes.
(http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b179/wallace1984uk/f4474e07-a2fd-4be8-bb82-91645c5f6868_zps308839ea.jpg) (http://s19.photobucket.com/user/wallace1984uk/media/f4474e07-a2fd-4be8-bb82-91645c5f6868_zps308839ea.jpg.html)
Hoping to fit the TT bushes in in rear and standard bushers at front, just a Q as i cant find them using the Search and Google.
Is there a guide for fitting the bushes yourself if you can and if not what kind of price would a garage charge to press them in.
Thanks
Mike

Iirc they need pressing in with a hydraulic press
Why not just poly bushes? Much easier to fit and won't need changing again
-
Yep. Normally need a press to get them in. Polls are easier but from my experience still hard. Can usually be some with a big thick bolt and some big washers etc. to make your own press.
-
Thanks guys, hoping wouldnt need a hydraulic press.
these are my two options,
Poly - Floflex

Lemforder TT and standard

the flofex ones as you have siad wouldn't need a press and a guy on ukmkiv has them on his TDi siad there good, not to harsh but firm.
but the TT bushes everyone seams to like and says are really good ! what kinda of cost would it be to have them pressed in ?
Thanks

I imagine a garage would charge about £30
I would say get the poly ones as you won't ever have to worry about them again and you can fit them on the driveway
Just make sure you clean up the wishbones surfaces and apply a little grease

going more towards the poly ATM due to easy of fitting etc. and trying to save cash atm as got my wedding in may so funds are at a all time low. but need it doing before te wedding.
Would lithium grease be ok to use with the poly bushers? is it just cover the hole bushe in the gresse or just were it fitts in the wishbone.
-
To be completly honest I'm not 100% what would be best but I'm sure a dab of copper grease would work
I would say cover the surfaces going into the wishbone and also the crush tube to stop it seizing

I fitted TT rears and standard fronts to mine last year, pressed them in with a vice without any problems. As said above copper grease will be fine

Another option for the rear bushes is the super pro caster increase bushes that I fitted to mine.

Im fitting my polys to the front in the next day or so. Is that definately the correct way for the rears with the voids in the bush on the sides and not front and back? Cant find anything on the net about how to fit.
