Title: wiper stalkmk2 golf.

i some how managed to snap my wiper stalk.ive just found a replacement and it looks like the whole steering wheel has to come off please tell me it isnt so. there must be easier ways than this.

Yes im afraid your wheel has to come off. But dont worry its a real easy job. Just remove your steering whell - 1 nut in the centre and pull hard and wiggle (the wheel that is) Then you need to remove 3 or 4 black screws from the plate you can now see. Once there out you can remove the plate and also the stalks. Unplug and wiggle them to get it off. Then as the haynes says re fitting is a reversal of removal. 20 mins max to do, even if your a total nonse!

1 more thing, just loosen the nut a bit, dont take it all the way off.  Then when you yank on the wheel it wont fly off and hit you in the face :grin:
