Nothing a bit of exhaust paste won't fix!
-
Haha might need a few tubs of paste to fix those holes
How much would I be looking at getting a new exhaust and for it to be fitted?
-
depends on weather standard, aftermarket or custom
and tbh exhaust paste wont help much just get a some big ass clamps and a load of chemical metal
-
Just a normal exhaust will do me, got no money at the moment, so as cheap as I can that does the job
-
i got my whole old standard exhast you can have for £50 if you can sort delivery or find out a corrier cost
-
Cheapest would be to get it welded, but looks pretty bad as its on the seam, did you hit a speed hump or something?
-
Just get a tip welded mate £15 job

Just get the tip welded? Are you not seeing the great big hole in the backbox itself?!
I wouldn't have that welded back up, looks beyond saving. Just get a new backbox.

Thanks for the offer mate! Needed to get it done by today though as going away for the weekend. Set me back a hell of a lot of money though
-
It don't matter to me its just sitting there right now what did you end up doing?
-
Had to get it down at Kwik Fit as needed it done very quick but today I noticed a loud very scrapping sound when I went over the speed bumps , so I looked under the car and found this

-
Was over £600 but got a so called discount
-
or a miltek cat back resonated or non resonated for under 450£? :undecided:
-
Milltek cat-backs were on offer on Dubmeister a few weeks back, only £350 for a non-res. You've had your pants pulled down.
-
That really does sound a lot like rape to me
-
Had a really sh!te week as it is, so just add the rape to the list.
Start work on Monday and everything is going against me starting. My rear bushes need doing as well by Monday to.
Not much I can do now regarding the price I paid, apart from shoot myself, which sounds appealing at this moment in time

what i'd suggest is for even half the price you paid is get the 3" turbo back ebay special, keep the exhaust you had "proffesionally fitted" and just swap them over when it comes to MOT time, thats obvioulsy once you've got some more fundage obviously otherwise at least you got it sorted, also have a shop about for bushes, DPM and Awesome do deals on these if you ask nicely and then its just a case of taking it to a vag specialist or seeing if theres any VW clubs in your local area with discounts at local garages and get it done there?

If he's just shelled out an extortionate amount of money for one exhaust he's hardly going yo go and splash more money on another.

yeh this is true i suppose, sorry my brain hasnt fully engaged yet, it is only 0815 :lipsrsealed:
in that case wait for something to go pear shaped with the exhaust as it should have 1 years warranty depending with the garage and then ask for your money back and then get the ebay one lol

Oh well, you live and learn! You definitely make Kwik Fits day, they charged you well over double price!

they wanted 650 for new pads and discs all round when i first got my golf, i asked if they were mad and got told that they only fit OEM parts... my a%se
-
Got a 3 year warranty with it so not all bad.
With regards to my rear bushes, I thought they needed doing but I got them checked today when they fixed the exhaust clamp and they said they are both fine.
Is a strange one, when I am in the car on my own it runs and sounds fine, someone else gets in the car and the back end creaks very loud. Even when I start the car up with two people in it creaks loud. Start it up on my own, no creaking.
This all has happened since my new exhaust has been fitted :undecided:
