Title: mk4 tdi130 clutch
Post by: dmac60 on 22 April 2013, 15:40
I'm in the market for a diesel and I've just seen what looks like a pretty decent gt tdi130 for sale.It has been re-mapped to 180bhp and I was wondering if this sort of power gain would require an up-rated clutch? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Depends how its been mapped, the mileage and how its been driven

If its a progressive map then it will be fine. Its the big spikey type maps that will kill the clutch. And your right foot

Standard clutch will be fine as a replacement unless you have plans to increase the power further

^^ This.

I am not going to mention how long my clutch has lasted with a map as I bet it would fall out next time I go in it.  :lipsrsealed:

But a standard clutch is fine.

Cheers for the responses, I'm not sure if the clutch been done, I'm phoning about it tomorrow. I just thought it would be handy to know about it before I asked. It's only done about 115k and I wasn't planning on doing any further mods to it so it's good to know that a standard cluth would do the job.
