Title: Convenience module - windows central locking & interior lights stopped working
Post by: scarr89 on 21 April 2013, 15:32
Can the keys forget that they are coded to car if you mess around with the convenience module enough?

I have been playing around with my CCM as I am trying to figure out the wiring for the mk5 boot handle I have just fitted. After un plugging and plugging in a few times and locking this and unlocking that they have now stopped central locking the car via the keyfob.

Just locked the car via the barrel in the handle. Strange though...I have VAGCOM and will recode them, but not until I'v got the boot all sorted.

That is the link for re coding keys. Just needs VAGCOM. This will only code the key for the central locking I believe, this will not code the immobiliser, for that you need to go the stealers I think.

What would cause all of these things to stop working?  :undecided:

I checked the fuses with the key symbols on, they were all fine. No electric windows, interior light or central locking...Any ideas?  :embarrassed:

You can recode your keys to a cam box with the two key trick that's how I did mine

I can recode the keys, I have VAGCOM. Will recoding the keys sort all these issues?

Replace Fuse 14. It may look ok but stick a new one in anyway. All of them run off the one fuse
