Title: When do you recommend changing the Cam Belt?
Post by: Jumbojim on 21 April 2013, 10:43
2008 GTI 2.0ltr. Turbo

The Bentley Manual says that the timing belt should be changed depending on condition between 80,000 and 120,000 miles.
Do you guys agree with that?

Hell no!!

Im sure its 60,000 miles or 5 years. Either way do not let it get to 80,000!!

Change the water pump at the same time too

Pretty sure the 40,000 got lift to 60,000 as Rhyso says, but if you are anywhere near 70,000 do it asap
