Title: cabriolet roof - vinyl or mohair
Post by: vw_golf_nutter on 18 April 2013, 09:37
I need to get a new roof on my mk3 cabrio but not sure which is best. Ive been told about a place doing Mohair roofs fitted for £250 which to me seems really cheap. I would personally of thought vinyl was harder wearing, stronger and easier to clean but then i dont actually have any experience of mohair.
Any advice?

German car's should have Mohair, and never Vinyl! Its the law!
Mohair properly looked after will outlast Vinyl, though Mohair hoods should only be opened and shut when the hood is fully dry, because it may shrink!

vinyl will look ok until you see the same car with mohair. then your life will be full of regret
