Hi all, I signed up for a day pass to the VW Erwin site and downloaded as much material as possible on the MK7 Golf. One thing that caught my eye was in the Self Study Manual SSP518 - "The Infotainment System in the MK7 Golf Part 1", when looking up the details on the Discover Nav pro, under features it states:
Dolby Surround/multichannel capability
Wonder if this means that if we play a DVD movie in the car, we get full 5.1 surround sound (like in the new Audi A3 with the B&O system) ?

You can watch DVD's on it, you could do it with the RNS 510 as well, i'm not sure about the fancy dolby though??

Probably as the Audi A1 which has been out a few years can do 5.1 surround with the right options.
Its awesome in the car
Makes waiting on the wife while she is away shopping, and keeping an eye on the car at the same time, a pleasure!!

I stopped buying DVDs and switched to blu ray.
Damn.

Yep, it does seem interesting that a new nav system in 2013 would not be a blu ray player (and therefore have the ability to play both) - dvd's went out in the dark age!
