Was driving my car back from work today and got to the dual carriage way which is an up hill job, any way gave the car some beans in 5 gear upto around the 70mph mark ;) and all of sudden lost virtually all boost from my turbo, no lights up or anything but flat as a turd, got home and plugged my vag code reader on an got the code 17965. Apparently this could be a hose/ connection or n75 valve fault.
When I got the car I noticed that the top intercooler hose connection had been cable tied up so I'm guessing this could be at fault, is it worth replacing that pipe with this: http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=170989776969&index=16&nav=SEARCH&nid=62550616290
I cleared the code and went for a quick spin up the road and car was fine again, so only happens when under a lot of load.
Thanks

Yes, especially in 5th gear at those speeds up hill. Drop it down and the engine won't be labouring as much so you shouldn't request so much boost which shoulnd't put you in limp mode, that make sense?
Yes that pipe is a good upgrade, can be DIYed for cheaper.

That is a guide for the whole IC upgrade, which could be done for the cost of that one pipe. If you just do the pipe you could do it far cheaper on your own. Also...EGR deletes can be had for like £40ish 2nd hand...get one second hand.

Thanks for advice, had to use 5 gear though due to speed I was doing if you get me ;)
I already have an allard egr delete kit installed but will defo check out the DIY upgrade :) thanks

You said you were doing 70mph
I'd say 5th is a good 70mph up hill gear; but not for getting to 70 going up a hill, IMO.
