Would be good if they shared all their info with us for a more comprehensive list. :lipsrsealed:

I still think that figure is wide of the mark, got to be more than 66 left.

I totally agree... they recon under 500 were ever registered and we know that's a few hundred wide of the mark!!
the site tells lies!

Totally, ive never believed the figures floating around in regards of the Anniversary mk3's as you see them quite regularly up for sale or been broken.
-
Yes but if there were 150 made and you are regulary seeing them broken then this will mean there aren't many left???
I don't think the general public see the exclusiveness of the anni like we do, we're all into mk3's. Not many people i speak to comment on it being an anni, just see it as just another golf but with horrible seats!!!
Only yesterday i was outside a post office and some hobo came up and said "thats a nice mk3, ive got a 16v and a vr6 but ive never seen one with red seatbelts before"!!! And when i bought my car the guy i bought it off didn't appreciate it as an anni, didn't bother painting calipers when he had the brakes changed or replacing the pin stripe. i guess this is why they don't look after them and they get broken all the time.

Explaining like that is really no far off the point in all honesty.
I generally point out mine is an Anniversary if someone asks but most see it as an old Golf.
It's exclusiveness is only going to get more exclusive and at least it'll be worth something to someone that knows their increasing rarity. Maybe no so much now, but soon.

Maybe folk dont look after them because they are not that special really!
I mean red seat belts and check seats do look a bit chavvy!

How many left only takes into account cars that are currently taxed. There will be a significant amount of them sitting on peoples drives on a SORN as well.
-
I was thinking the very same Dom regards SORN numbers
I saw a Merc C-Class with red seat belts the other day- they're coming back in fashion
Regarding seats- are they actually Recaro's?, be nice if they had the Recaro embossed like the MK4s.
The BBS's define the Anni for me though- really smart looking wheels- I put mine back on at the weekend when the winters come off
-
It does take into account Sorn ones the number taxed went from 71 to 66 but number Sorn rose from 28 to 32?
I don't know where the info comes from or how accurate it is, but theres not alot else to go off (others than shady's register). But as has been said before, there seems to be alot broken as worth more in bits so eventually only the strongest will survive.
