Ok so my 16v does and my 8v didn't but i rang up VW and she said the 8v came with red seatbelts from the factory which proved it was, any other anni owners out there that can confirm?
Trying to find out if all 16v anni's are the same.
Is there any other way of finding out if your anni is real or a copy? i.e. stickers in the boot???

Type reg number in "my car check" website, if it's an anni it will say, have tried it before when I've found mk3 anni's so it can go on the anni register.
-
My logbook says
Make: Volkswagen
Model:Golf GTI 16v Anniversary
-
mine says Golf GTi Anniversary
and it's an 8v (b.t.w mycarcheck can be useless as it realise on info from the dvla who are crap most of the time (according to them in 1996 only 436 were registered! and we all know virtually all 750 anni's were plated in 96)

Add me on the list

Yeap mine too

My car check says my 16v is an anni but my 8v was a golf gti saloon, so Boney yours is an 8v and has anni on then?
Could it be my old anni 8v was an imposter???!!! VW has it leaving the factory with red seatbelts though? Prob just a mistake when registering it then?

yep the doc says GTi anniversary... but like I said earlier I think some were not given that bit on the reg doc's, I guess some dealer staff or dvla staff just put some as GTi

My 8v says Anniversary in the log book

mine says golf gti 16v anniversary

It might not say Anni on the logbook but DVLA and dealers make mistakes, have seen loads over the years.
