Indeed, as its the first GTi (sort of) mk7 I have seen in black!
Liking the wheels if they are final design, also interesting 19's with sunroof? Maybe the reduced kerb weight make this now permisable?

The Golf R is also said to make use of lightweight technology in the bodywork and components, including the alloy wheels and brakes, and tips the scales at just 1200kg.
Damn! How is this even possible?!

Anything is possible, and it was discussed how it could be done in the VW MQB tech release, but I can;t see them actually doing it tbh.

Yes, much more like it. Couldn't see it being lighter than the gti.
