Had my clocks out recently and put them back in today, however the spindles aren't sitting in the correct "0" positions, speedo, rev counter and fuel ones seem to be the problems.
I have opened the speedo front up and manually moved them to the correct position, but when I turn the ignition on they fall back a couple of mm. When I turn the car off and back on again, they spindles fall back another mm or 2.
Any ideas?

Rewind them twice and put them to zero should work.
Or rewind twice then wind them forward and put to zero?
-
Don't think you moving them on the motor spline. Sounds like your just moving them on the motor. Push them to 0 so they stop them push them bit more so they spin on the spline.
-
Sorry tweed but those instructions have confused the f**k out of me...

Not going to hurt to give it a go. :)

If you push them gently to 0 they stop? (Won't turn any further) so push them but harder so the needle turns on the motor shaft.
If they fall back. Then you need to push them the other way.
So push it to max mph, etc.

That made more sense. So I've just done all that and same thing is happening?

Rewind a couple of times then put back to the stop/zero.
That's what I have always done and always worked.

take the needles off with two tea spoons, then replace them partially (don't push in fully), now turn anticlockwise GENTLY (you can hear how the stepper motor moves).
When you can no longer hear the motor move it's completely at the end.... now push the needles down so that they are just below 0.
has always worked for me when i put foil on them to "convert" my kmh speedo to mph.

That's what I said but still having the problems. You don't need to take them off.

I've got the speedo and rev counter sorted now, but the fuel gauge won't play ball. You can only turn it so far left/right?
-
Actually, got it all sorted now. I'm not sure why tweed but I couldn't get your method to work. I did use italava's method though and thankfully all is okay now. I was about to have a fit.

Yes but push hard and it spins on the shaft.
But you've done it now just a longer way off doing it lol

turning hard with needles fully in will allow quite a bit of force on the motor and the end stops - plus it takes more force to get them to slip on the shaft.
when you pull the shaft out and only loosely insert them you need much less force... plus needles are not tricky to get off if you have 2 tea spoon to lever them off.
-
I didn't use teaspoons, managed to use the right angle with my fingers to pull them off safely, but nonetheless it was a b!tch of a job to do. Just an annoyingly fiddly!
Thanks for all the help though. Everybody. :)

Should have just let me do em !!!!
you have to reset the metal things under the dials, if you dont do this its a pain to get them exact
