Hey guys, im thinking about giving my car a lovely set of Leather Recaros. (Blame GTI_James)
Not going to be for a few months yet as I have other things to pay for namely being my respray, wheel refurb & holidays.
But I Have so far seen them in black, cream, and grey my car is reflex silver and I wanted to know what colours did these seats come in? also Pictures would be lovely guys so i can get an idea of how they look.
I did see someone had theres redone in a wine red and I must say I was taken back by them.
Also How much of a pain isit to wire in the heated loom? :undecided:

I would have been taken back too
Don't get me wrong a white car, convertible will just about pull this look off, anything else would look grim

I got my cream ones for £200 for the whole lot (heated) so I couldnt really say no....got the arm rest top from china ebay, the handrake cream cover from a forum member for free (thank you), cream gear gaiter from a beetle and the handles from a scappy. I should do the door cards but cant be bothered just ordered up some black mats with cream piping with should bring it together even more. Better then the 1.4 seats I had at any rate!

p.s: The loom is a piece of p!ss, just plug, run though middle to the switches, plug in, costs like £45 from Kufatec I think for the loom, I need to buy some, would be interested in a group buy if theres a few people on it?
-
In silver I would only have black mate unless I retrimned in which they would be red
-
yeah silver and cream does look a bit washed tbf :undecided:
-
I saw some odd recaros on ukmkivs earlier but cant find them now the half leather with a stripped cloth ???
-
Tell a lie just found it .... http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/511931.aspx
-
They are normally electric too the A3 ones but they just look like a early 90's set of curtains or bed spread i always think
-
i think they look  but why not look at other leathers like s3 leather rs4 leathers porchse tombstones yeah some of them are bit more expensive but there rare in a mk4 so if you pull them off right they look the BOOM
-
Nice replys not liking the half and half if I'm honest

Against a silver car, black or red would get my choice.
White or cream needs a dark colour to offset it.
-
Nice Barry :)
What colours do they come in from factory?
-
And Wayne, so far I'm maybe thinking black or red lol
-
black an cream im sure  but you could be lucky find a set like this

they do look very nice. personally though i would not spend £1200+ on a retrim thats mental.
-
If the recaros i got was not mint i would of but not going to do it whilst there in good nick... Maybe 1 day if there fecked!
-
these came in grey! winter 2001 options
-
I had some white S3 recaros in my old 1.4, I reckon they look better than the recaros that came in the golf as standard, and are still just as comfortable, they were electric as well. Still have em but haven't swapped them over into my gti.

-
S3 leathers sell cheap too! I do like them but theres something about a mint set of recaroes
-
the leather ones that came in the mk4 look to me to be an early concept of the R32 bucket seats, if you look at the overall design there are a few echos in relation to this
-

They are made by two different companies Recaro (Gti) and Konig (R32)
-
yet if you take out all the bumps from the recaro and have the headrest sit just right it looks to similar shape of the R32's as i said thats what i think they look like and are a bit similar, chance of design maybe? :undecided:

think the s3 1s are a bit better for comfort but its been a while since i got rid of the mk4 with leather
-
Actually looking at that ^ the leather Mk4 recaros do look better, maybe it's because I have the cloth recaros in mine, I've always preffered the white/cream recaros, I reckon it goes well with the rest of the standard interior, black leather is too subtle for me haha  the bolsters on the mk4 recaros are a bit better actually because they're closer together so hold you in a but better
Trying to sell my S3 seats actually because I fancy some heated recaros  there's a set of the colour concepts for sale at the min which look pretty sweet!
-
mk4 ones defo
-
I've got a set of cream, heated, leather Recaros if anyone's interested?
Do need a clean, got all door cards and most of the centre console.
PM me if your seriously interested and want pictures?
PS Wez, this isn't a FS post
-
Mk4 recaros are by far the superior seat from the mk4 platform there not as supportive as the konigs but there alot comfier !
-
hmmm
I don't mind the S3 Recaros, Audis leather always seems to smell better too lol
