Are you using a cheap eBay dongle? If so then no, most won't even delete fault codes

i have the ebay cable working reading faults and deleting them as thinking of buying a mapped ecu so wondering if i could do it with vcds-lite

It wont be deleting them, it will be removing them from the current list not deleting them.

No mate, you need someone with proper VAGCOM

you won't need to remove the immo, AGU will be immo2 so you can just code the ECU to your immobiliser but you will need full vcds for that

are you using vcds lite a shareware or fully registered?
fully reg vcdslite should be able to do it for older pre-can cars.
