Title: gear knob issues

hi all i brought a new gear knob and gaiter for my mk4 but the gear knob came off a 2002 bora and when i tried to change them over ive noticed the white plastic clip inside the new gear knob is wider then my standard gear knob is there a way of getting it to fit can they be changed over the ons on my car isnt as wide

dont think that will matter as that metal part gets squeezed to hold it into place. I used a crimping tool mine and been fine for years

Even tho the other one is wider ? I was going to glue the thing on lol

wrap some duct tape around the gear shaft if you want a tighter fit but the clamp should be fine.
