Title: Forge 007 Recirc Valve.
Post by: markymarkg on 13 April 2013, 11:14
Just treated my 1.8T AUM to a Forge recirc valve....

Just to add that the car is standard(so i have been told) apart from a BMC carbon intake. You can really feel the pressure of the turbo winding up and the surge of power(like a power band) from the turbo and it sounds great, a slight whistle from the turbo spinning up, then when off the throttle, you can hear what i think is the wastegate chirp and the boost pressure being dumped....its sound pretty good!.

But....I've fitted the Forge recirc and all that is gone!. No surge of power, only a very slight whistle from the turbo and no noise at all when you let off the gas, the car even feels slower!!

Anyone??

P.s. It had the standard plastic DV before i fitted this.

To be honest, unless you're mapped or the standard dv was leaking I wouldn't have bothered changing it.

What colour spring did you fit? Should be green if your car is standard, yellow if mapped.

Don't get me wrong, it won't do any harm, I just don't see the benefit unless you're planning on having it mapped soon.

I'd stick with the forge one now that you have it, then get yourself booked in at R-tech

I would put money on the old one being cracked/leaking boost

well, defiatly not cracked and if it was the leaking to atmosphere you wouldn't hear a thing over the engine.

It'll be as Dom69 said.......How much is a remap at R-Tech.

Did you buy the Forge007p new or used?

What piston is fitted to the Forge 007p?

If its the old style piston, there's a good chance its leaking boost.

I had the same issue, I have now rebuilt the 007p using the new design piston with the 'O' ring fitted to the bottom of it.

Upwards of £200 depending on what stage etc you want. It's all listed on their website.
