Title: Newbie with a hello and surprise surprise, a question!
Post by: BennyBZZR on 12 April 2013, 19:30
Hiya all, have joined recently after getting a '03 1.8T GTi as our second car and enjoyed browsing and getting ideas and a feel of maintenance issues etc. Love the car but we are having a slight issue that i'm hoping someone can tell me what's required.

It has happened for the third time now and seems to clear, it is intermittent at the moment! The car hesitates at times and ticks over lumpy so i got myself a scanner (Vgate VS450) off fleabay and cleared the stored codes. It has now done it again and has flung up the following (everything as it appeared on the unit's screen).

17705 - 163 01/01
KWP1281
"Pressure drop between turbo & throttle valve (check D.V.!) : P1297

Anyone able to tell me what's required to fix the issue? Any assistance very much appreciated.

Cheers
Benny.

Welcome bud !

The lumpy ideal does it only happen when youve left the car for ages and it only lasts for 60 seconds or so ?

D.v problem..... your best bet would be to get a forge 007p or forge 008 valve

Cheers folks and thanks for the welcome. No bud, it can happen anytime, then goes away for a while and then come back again at anytime! Will have a root around tomorrow! Will keep you posted though and hopefully have an answer for you soon.
